Culture clash

Summing up:  The “culture clash” between our Society and Fox results in one Fox executive being replaced by another Fox executive (Lyle) who saw programming gold in this disaster of a show:

Prior to the show’s U.S. launch, Mr. Lyle — an Australian ex-pat —  told Variety: “I look forward to unleashing that on the American public.

How nice.

Down, down, down…the more you go down, the harder to go up…
Money is not what life is about…
    Shame, shame, shame…
    Where is NatGeo going ?

    • “Where is NatGeo going?”
NatGeo is going global. And they’re getting there on the back of News Corp.

And while I agree that “money is not what life is about,” it has become our Society’s metric for success. Each revenue dollar is a vote by a customer somewhere saying: I like what you’re producing. I’m not defending that metric, but it does beg the question: What’s the option? How else can NGS measure whether or not it’s doing a good job?

      Thanks for stopping by, JPH.
      best,

Hollywood took the power more than half a century ago. Now we are in a world of “entertainment” instead of a world of “edutainment”…
The more you have to entertain, the more you have to fight against competition, the more you are dragged downward to catch the viewer. At the end, the same viewer has less and less “education”, so he has no more any consciousness of what really “matters”.
The intellectual level falls and at the end you are left with “brainless people” who are easily manipulated…
Murdoch is certainly one of the best model of “brain-washing” entrepreneur…
George Orwell is not very far…just a few years ahead 😉

        And Money for Nothing…
Because life is not about money, life is about self accomplishment !

National Geographic had better times…long time ago…

        My opinion…just my opinion…

        Cheers
